RESEARCH

Student thesis

Nghiên cứu các đặc điểm hình thái và di truyền của ấu trùng sán lá song chủ (metacercariae) ký sinh trên cá (Researching on morphological and genetic characteristic of trematode larvae (metacercariae) parasitic on the fish)

My study focus on determine parasitic species composition of metacercariae in 3 fish species: striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus), climbing perch (Anabas testudineus) and mullet (Mugil cephalus) by morphological and genetic characters. 11 metacercariae species were deetected belong 7 genera, 3 families, 2 orders. Phylogenetic tree was constructed using 28S rDNA and ITS-1 gene of ribosomal DNA showed monophyly of studied species. Species of two families (Heterophiydae and Opisthorchiidae) were placed in the same clade. Research need to be conducted to species identification based on morphological and genetic characteristics.

Master thesis

Đa dạng thành phần loài ký sinh trùng trên một số loài cá rạn san hô (Họ: Mullidae, Synodontidae, Pomacentridae và Serranidae) tại vịnh Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa (Diversity of parasite composition on coral reef fish (Family: Mullidae, Synodontidae, Pomacentridae and Serranidae) at Nha Trang Bay, Khanh Hoa).

My thesis survey on the parasite composition of belonging 4 family (Mullidae, Synodontidae, Pomacentridae and Serranidae) of 359 individuals fish by morphological and genetic characteristic. 25 species parasite were detected including 6 class, 11 order, 17 family, 21 genus and 5 species unidentified. Genetic researching used gen 28S rDNA to constructed phylogenetic tree and showed close relationship between the species. Coevolution was constructed base on molecule marker 28S rDNA (parasite) and 16s rRNA (coral reef fish) of digenean, crustacean, monogenean on coral reef fish. Software of coevolution that we used were Treemap 1.0, Jane 4 and Parafit.
