Prof. Scott Cummins works with research group of Biodiversity and Conservation

From July 12-16, 2017, Prof. Scott Cummins - Sunshine Coast University, Australia visited and worked with the Biodiversity and Conservation Research Group at Institute for Biotechnology and Environment.

In the framework of discussions on opportunities for cooperation and student exchange between 2015 and 2017, two research groups have agreed to initiate research cooperation on the symbiotic relationship between clownfish fish and sea anemones.

In addition to conducting experiments, the team also surveyed coral diversity and the distribution of thorny starfish in Hon Mun Marine Projected Area.

On the afternoon of June 15, Prof. Scott has given a talk titled "Pheromone communication of aquatic animals" presenting recent research results on genomic and proteomics related to the behaviour and reproduction of invertebrate animals (Slugs, starfish, sea cucumber, abalone, squid) for staffs and students of the Institute of Biotechnology and Environment.
