TRAINING WORKSHOP ON NEXT SEQUENCING GENERATION

Nha Trang University collaborated with Can Tho University to host the training workshop on Next Sequencing Generation in 5 days (8 - 12/03/2017). The training workshop took place at Can Tho University, with the participation of experts from the United States (Old Dominion University and Texas A&MCC University) and students/staff from Australia, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar.

This activity is organized in the framework of Peer project Network between Mekong River countries, and US collaborative partners. The training workshop aims to train advanced genomic analysis for staff and students from MRB partner countries, as well as scientists from research institutions in Vietnam (Genomic Research Institute, Ha Noi University of Science, Ria 1 and Ria 3).

During 5 - day workshop, more than 20 participants have practiced the script, and pipeline for ddRAD data set, trimming for reference genome, and discover and filter SNPs.

All participants have successfully pased the course, and received the certificate from Texas A&MCC University

The success of the workshop has created a platform for researchers to better understanding the application of genomic research in the field of biodiversity conservation and Resources management in the Mekong River, and open up opportunities for research cooperation between Vietnamese scientists and international partners
