RESEARCH GROUP BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION ATTEND ANNUAL MEETING AND PARTICIPATION IN SAMPLING IN CAMBODIA

From 27-31 May 2016, the members of the research group Biodiversity and Conservation has participated in the annual meeting of the PEER project "Building a Mekong River biodiversity Genetic Research Network" in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Under the chairmanship of the Inland Fisheries Research and Development Institute, with the participation of US partners Prof. Kent Carpenter, representative of USAID, Mekong River committee, and the partnership members, the meeting discussed the results achieved after one year of project implementation, the difficulties in building research networks; and partners also discussed the tasks for the next year and identify fish species for further studies.

After the annual meeting, the team led by Dr. Dang Thuy Binh continued to conduct sampling at the local market, the landing sites in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap (Tonle Sap).
