On 12 june, 2015, Nha Trang University (NTU) in collaboration with the University of Auburn - US held international conference on "Marine Biotechnology and Environment" in Nha Trang. Attending the meeting were scientists from Auburn University, University of Mississippi, USA; University of Bergen, National Institute of Nutrition and Seafood, Norway; Malaya University, Malaysia, and representatives of Universities and research institutes in Vietnam and representatives from industry for Biotechnology.

On behalf of the Nha Trang University, Assoc. Dr. Trang Si Trung, rector of NTU, and Assoc. Dr. Ngo Dang Nghia, Director for Institute of Biotechnology and Environment giving a welcome speech. Assoc. Dr. Ash Bullard, Auburn University, representatives of international gave a talk. Dr. Huynh Ky Hanh, director of the Department of Science and Technology highlighted the scientific strategy of Khanh Hoa Province.
Welcoming speeches and honoring sponsors
The conference created a forum to exchange research information, new achievements between the authorities with scientists, to expand cooperation in the field of biotechnology and marine environmental management. On this basis, operational applications of biotechnology in aquaculture, agriculture, food, medicine, ecology, environmental and waste management will be deployed in Vietnam.
Presenters at the plenary and scientific session of the conference
The conference includes plenary sessions with 2 invited presenters and 5 scientific sessions with a total of 62 scientific papers were presented. This information will help Vietnam bring biotechnology to the research, production and environmental management. The experts proposed several solutions, such as linking the biotechnological applications to transfer the manufacturing process; studies of aquatic diseases, and biodiversity and ecologt. At the conference, experts also introduced the production technology of advanced biology are being applied common in the world to implement the project effectively.
