INSTITUTE FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY & ENVIRONMENT WORK WITH AUBURN UNIVERSITY, USA

From 1-16 / 6/2015, the scientific group working with fish parasites from the Faculty of Agriculture and Fisheries, Auburn University including Assoc. Dr. Ash Bullard and 4 students have worked with research group of Biodiversity and Conservation, Institute of Biotechnology and Environment, Nha Trang University.

The two groups have collaborated in marine and freshwater fish sampling at local markets, Khanh Hoa Province and the Mekong Delta, simultaneous sampling of tortoises in Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, and examined the situation of parasitic infection. At the same time, members of the team also participated in the International Conference on Marine Biotechnology and the Environment, Dr. Ash Bullard was invited presenting at the plenary session of the conference.

This study is the first step in the framework of cooperation between the Institute of Biotechnology and Environment, Nha Trang University and Auburn University, and is also an opportunity for students between the two schools exchange knowledge, improve the lab, and language skills. In the near future, two research groups are expected to publish the results of research, extent cooperation and student exchange programs.
