On 23-24 / 3/2015, representing the team Biodiversity and Conservation, Institute of Biotechnology and Environment participated in the kick off meeting of the PEER project "Building a Mekong River Biodiversity Genetic Research Network" funded by USAID in Faculty of Fisheries, Can Tho University.
Join meeting with Can Tho University, PI the project, Nha Trang University, Professor. Kent Carpenter, US partners from Old Dominion University, Dr. So Nam from the Mekong River Community, TS. Cheng Phen and Cambodia partners, and 2 representative from USAID.
During the day 23/3, the partners discussed the main content of the project including sampling plan, the object of study, the implementation plan of genetic research and organize training on next sequencing generation. The meeting also discussed the organization of workshops to publish research results and discuss future strategy. Then, on 24/3, the delegation had a survey in the market in Can Tho to identify the species to sampling and survey sampling sources.
The meeting ended successfully with the consensus of the partners. This is a regional project and contribute to improving the scientific credibility of Nha Trang University.
