SAMPLING IN MEKONG DELTA FOR PEER PROJECT

In the framework of the project "Conservation genetics for improved biodiversity and resource management in a changing Mekong Delta, from 22-19/9/2013  team member of Biodiversity and conservation group has conducted the first  sampling in the  Mekong Delta.

The delegation led by Dr. Dang Thuy Binh,  with Prof. Kent E. Carpenter, Old Dominion University, USA has sampled a number of fish species in local markets in Can Tho, An Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre and Tien Giang. Fish includes Boesemania microlepis, Polynemus melanochir. Eleutheronema tetradactylum, and some freshwater fish commonly served for population genetics studies and construction genetic data of fish species of the Mekong Delta.
